How We Can Help: Services to families with epilepsy.

Information and referral services are provided by trained staff and volunteers. Our Epilepsy Resource Center contains books, brochures, fact sheets, and videos. Through the National Epilepsy Library we can provide research articles from the latest sources.

Individual and family counseling is available by appointment. EFSCW representatives will advocate on behalf of clients with their doctors, employers, or other service providers.

Employment issues are addressed in the work place by helping employers accommodate epilepsy. Clients build job-seeking skills with resume writing, practice interviews, and by learning seizure disclosure techniques.

Support groups provide an opportunity to receive current information on epilepsy and related issues. Meetings also provide an opportunity for peer counseling and social interaction with those who share common concerns and experiences.

Emergency medication assistance is available in conjunction with financial counseling to address long term needs.

Summer Camp for Kids with Epilepsy is conducted by EFSCW to provide an overnight residential camping experience for boys and girls ages 8 to 15 (accredited by the American Camping Association).

Quarterly newsletters are sent to all members and clients of EFSCW as well as to educators, human service providers, and community leaders, to keep them informed about agency services and new developments in the medical management of seizures.
