Epilepsy Foundation National Teen Chat Room

Young people 12 and over are invited to join the Epilepsy Foundation's National Teen Chat internet program of outreach and fellowship. The goal of this program is simple: to provide a place where adolescents living with seizure disorders can talk to each other and make new friends. Just as the camping program brings young people together in a positive, friendly environment, the Teen Chat Room is offering similar contact all year 'round.

The Teen Chat Room has its own Internet address — www.teenchat.org — and can also be accessed from the link on the EFSCWebNews Index panel or through the Epilepsy Foundation National Office Web site at www.epilepsyfoundation.org. The Teen Chat Room is open 24 hours a day, with the most popular times for use currently being between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. However, it is anticipated that other time periods may also become popular as more teens with seizures hear about the room and "check it out"!

If you know of a teen with seizure disorders who does not have a computer at home to use, please help him find an on-line connection at his/her local library or school — or think about offering time on yours or at your office if it has a public-access computer! And also "check out" the new Teen Chat T-shirts in the latest Epilepsy Foundation catalog!
