Meow! Jo's Corner: releave stress with a beginner's yoga class
. . . from Joanna Baugh, Director of Philanthropy

Raise your hands if your life is stressed! Raise your hands if you're a little out of shape. Raise your hands if the thought of exercising makes you tired. Raise your hands if you can't think of any fun way to exercise during the wintertime without getting that white stuff all over you. Okay, now raise your hands because you would love to learn yoga and some relaxation techniques. The Epilepsy foundation would like to know. I would be happy, along with Jonathan Garber, another yoga teacher, to put together a class to be offered here at the Epilepsy Foundation if there is enough interest.

Yoga is a great way to relieve stress as well as a gentle way to exercise and tone up your body. This would be a basic, beginning yoga class for students of any age and level of fitness. We would be teaching the basic poses, which run together in a gentle flowing sequence. Yoga energizes with stretches that soothe the body and mind and make you stronger and more flexible.

We are still in the planning stages but would anticipate small classes and plenty of individual attention. So, if you are thinking there might be something you could give yourself this year, consider the gift of yoga. It could make you feel a whole lot better! Call us to let us know you are interested.
